I’m lucky in that I have good job. I joined the company as a product designer when I came out of university, and in only five years have risen to become head of the design department. I’m not bragging, that’s not my style, but I am pleased with what I have achieved. I wish my old Pa was around to see it, he would have been proud. It’s a long day at the office, though, and that’s one of the downsides. Still, long days mean that weekends are there to look forward to!
I have recently invested in a new chair for the office, an ergonomically designed one that keeps my posture right. I had to because I started getting aches in my back, and at my age that’s not what should happen. OK, so I wasn’t getting enough exercise – my fault entirely – but sitting in the same chair for many hours a day can’t have helped. That’s why I took notice when two work colleagues started talking about a ###Human Touch chair###, a sort of chair that massages you while you relax.
When I got a few moments I looked up ###best massage chair### on the internet, and there are some really clever people out there designing these things! The ###Human Touch chair### range was there and the one that really got me was the ###Homedics SBM 200### range, not a chair but a cushion that you use to do the same thing. The great thing is that I can take it from home to the office and use it wherever I want, and it gives this wonderful heat and comforting massage – not bad for under $100!
My Pa was a designer too, and that’s what got me into this game. I reckon he could have done with one of these pads as he suffered back problems. I guess some of it is hereditary, but some must come from sitting still for all this time. Still, there’s always a way of helping the problem and I’ve certainly found one. I know Pa is watching up there somewhere – I’m proud of you too, old fella!
